Technical Definitions & Standards
To ensure clear communication with global customers, the following technical terms and standards are used consistently across our website:
Surface Accuracy (N / ΔN)
Surface accuracy is expressed in fringe units (N / ΔN), measured by optical interferometry.
• N: Overall surface accuracy within the clear aperture
• ΔN: Local surface irregularity
Unless otherwise specified, surface accuracy values shown on this website refer to standard production capability. Higher precision can be achieved based on material, diameter, and curvature.
Diameter Tolerance (H6)
Diameter tolerances are specified according to the GB/T tolerance system.
• H6 indicates a high-precision diameter tolerance commonly used for optical components
• Tighter tolerances are available upon request, subject to feasibility evaluation
Thickness Tolerance
Thickness tolerances are specified as ± values in millimeters (mm) and are measured after final polishing and edging.
Actual achievable tolerance may vary depending on lens diameter, center thickness, and material.
Centration / Concentricity
Centration refers to the alignment between the optical axis and mechanical axis of the lens.
For concentric or equal-thickness lenses, centricity is controlled through dedicated centering and edging processes to ensure stable optical performance.
Surface Quality
Surface quality is specified in accordance with MIL-PRF-13830, expressed as Scratch–Dig (e.g., 40–20, 60–40).
This standard defines allowable surface imperfections after final polishing and inspection.
Manufacturing Capability Disclaimer
All specifications presented on this website represent typical manufacturing capabilities.
Final specifications are subject to optical design, material selection, diameter, curvature radius, and application requirements.
Customized solutions with tighter tolerances or higher precision are available upon technical evaluation.
